CB Studio: Ceramics / Kintsugi Workshop with Karolina Gacke
Tuesday, 8 September 2026
6 – 8.30 PM
Aurora Café
Inspired by Yoko Ono’s Mending Pieces and the Japanese tradition of Kintsugi, this workshop invites participants to explore the themes of breaking, repairing and connecting in a playful, creative and meditative way.
Using broken ceramic pieces and simple materials such as tape, string and scissors, participants create their own objects and forms.
The workshop invites participants to reflect on something that is broken – whether it is an object, a relationship, a situation or something more abstract. What does it mean to repair something? And can something new emerge from what is broken?
Everyone is welcome to take part, regardless of artistic experience or previous skills. The focus is on coming together, experimenting, and enjoying the creative and meditative process. The act of repairing becomes a metaphor for preserving, connecting and perhaps also healing.
