On this evening, Aurora Listening Bar opens its doors to numerous guests from Merano’s cultural scene: conversations, drinks, and to close out the night, a set by Veloziped himself. Because behind Veloziped lies a story that has been told for thirty years.
The designer Alessandro Gatti, who was responsible for the book’s design, as well as some of the photographers and text contributors will also be present.
Walter Garber is considered one of the pioneers of techno in South Tyrol — a librarian by day, a collector of over seven thousand records by night, all catalogued on Discogs. A double life that led him all the way to the Museion, where parts of his collection were on display in the exhibition HOPE. Now this story is leaving the dance floor and making its way into a book: a photo book tracing three decades of parties, flyers, and companionships, accompanied by a vinyl EP produced by Scott Ferguson in Detroit.
